This year’s National Sports Convention 2019 (NSC) was a huge success and we are so pleased that you were able to join in the industry networking, learning and insights on offer.

This year the NSC focused on the need for the industry to embrace physical activity and take a holistic approach to participation, and this focus received an overwhelmingly positive response.

From the conversations and requests to change the focus of the industry to attract more people to be active, I think that the speakers and the delegates have never been more aligned.

There is a strong and clear message to all in positions of responsibility to activate local communities. This message is being communicated to all levels of government, facility providers, planners and policy makers and the sports industry. This will be reflected in the development for next year’s NSC – An Active Australia.

We were privileged to be able to present keynote speakers who are leaders in the industry, experts in their fields and committed to community participation in sports and recreation.

Another notable mention was the free Community Sport & Recreation Expo that fostered partnerships, commercial discussion and knowledge-sharing.

Here are a few fast facts about NSC 2019:

  • This year the NSC attracted 1,466 individual delegates, exhibitors and registered visitors over the two days
  • 237 from local/state government, 287 from sport, 148 from peak bodies in sport, education and health, 98 from education, and the Expo attracted 408 exhibitors and expo attendees
  • Decision makers were there in force with 181 CEO’s / MD’s and Board/Councillors; 252 Directors and Leadership team members; 438 managers, and 195 team leaders / coordinators
  • In attendance were 31 NSO’s and 81 State sport organisations represented from across the various states and territories bringing nearly 300 participants.

We hope that you are motivated to put into practice some of the ideas shared during the event and continue to drive improvements in sport participation and community recreation for all Australians.

We are currently finalising a White Paper to share with all delegates, and this should be available by 1st September. It can be reserved now when you complete the questionnaire below.

We are now preparing for another great event in 2020, and we can’t wait to share more details as things are locked in.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Thank You to our Partners, Collaborators and Sponsors

The National Sports Convention 2019 was the largest yet and it was presented with the valuable support and input from key industry partners, collaborators, content providers and sponsors. We partnered with Sport Australia, Sport New Zealand, the State and Territory Departments of Sport and Recreation to create a central point where all levels of government, sport, education and peak bodies could come together for a comprehensive program of conferences.

This industry backing was paramount to being able to present the event and it would not have been possible without our generous sponsors. We thank all of our sponsors who helped to make the event a success and we acknowledge the many stakeholders involved in delivering the event.
