Professor Kylie Ball

Alfred Deakin Professor Kylie Ball leads a research program at Deakin University’s Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, where for the past 19 years she has focused on understanding and promoting physical activity and healthy eating. Kylie is particularly interested in addressing health inequities through supporting high-risk groups, such as people experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage, to be more active and to sit less. She has disseminated her research in more than 200 journal papers and has been consistently recognised as one of the world’s most influential and highly cited researchers in her field. Kylie has worked in partnership with many stakeholders in this field, including the National Heart Foundation, the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and VicHealth.
