Nick is the Deputy Secretary, Housing, Infrastructure, Sport and Recreation in the Department of Health and Human Services.

Nick joined the Department of Health and Human Services in December 2014 following a number of years as Executive Director in Local Government Victoria and prior to that as CEO and Senior Executive for various local councils.

The Housing, Infrastructure, Sport and Recreation division oversees sport and recreation, health and community services infrastructure delivery and homelessness service delivery.

Nick’s responsibilities include:

  • integrating department-wide expertise on infrastructure delivery and asset management
  • providing stewardship for the sport and active recreation system in partnership with other government and non-government organisations
  • exercising the statutory functions of the Director of Housing under the Housing Act 1983
  • overseeing entities charged with the management and development of sport facilities including the Melbourne Olympic Park Trusts and the State Sports Centre Trust.

The division manages a $4 billion pipeline of projects which seek to maximise the social and economic benefits to the state arising from investments in health, sport and community services.
