Ned Coten has extensive experience across business, technology and sport.
His business interests include investments in Aged Care, Self Storage and Consulting. Ned is the Chair of a Brand Strategy agency and Marketing Director for Emprevo, a health workforce platform.
Ned is the Chairman of Basketball Australia and joined the Board in 2014. He serves on FIBA’s Competition Commission and has been a participant, administrator and Board Director in both professional and volunteer capacities within basketball over the past 35 years.
Ned attended the Australian Institute of Sport and represented Australia at the 1983 World Junior Championships. He had a brief career in the NBL and co-founded the Goldfields Giants in WA’s State League. Professionally, Ned has held positions as CEO of two NBL clubs and Directorships with the WNBL, BigV, Basketball WA and Basketball Victoria.
Ned holds an MBA from the University of NSW and has written a book on marketing and branding for sports organisations. He has a strong interest and wide experience in athlete transition, having seen the variety of ways in which his peers have approached life after sport.
Married to Hilary since 1994, Ned has two sons and resides in Melbourne, Australia.
