Dr Sarah Sandley
Chief Executive Officer – Aktive – Auckland Sport & Recreation

Sarah has wide-ranging leadership experience gained through more than 20 years of general management and CEO experience in commercial as well as not-for-profit environments, including as CEO of the trans-Tasman APN Magazine Group, where she was responsible for some of New Zealand’s leading media brands.

A Chartered Director who serves on the Auckland branch committee of the NZ Institute of Directors, Sarah was a Director of Sport NZ for almost 6 years, founding Chair of the international Katherine Mansfield Society and a founding Trustee and former Chair of the Auckland Writers’ Festival. She currently serves on the board of the Auckland War Memorial Museum, and was recently appointed as an independent member of Table Tennis Australia’s Governance Reform Committee.

Sarah has represented both England and New Zealand in table tennis, as sport in which she still competes, along with volunteering as a technical classifier for disabled players.
