Chief Executive – Sportspace, Dacorum Sports Trust, UK
An experienced Sport and Leisure professional with over 30 years under his belt in the private, public and charitable sectors. Dave studied for a Leisure Management degree at Leeds University and an MBA at Loughborough University. He is also a Master Practitioner at NLP (Neuro – Linguistic Programming).
Starting his career as a Sports Development Officer, in a tracksuit, with a bag of balls and a van engaging with local clubs, schools and groups to increase participation, Dave has managed numerous Sports Development Teams and been involved in many sport and leisure projects as he progressed his career. He was appointed CEO of Sportspace, Dacorum Sports Trust 14 years ago and has developed the organisation into one of the most innovative leisure trusts in the UK.
In addition to the day job, Dave is on the board of The Sports Council Trust Company which owns and manages the contract for England’s National Sports Centres, Wycombe Wanderers FC Sport and Education Trust and on the Grants Panel for the Football Foundation. He is also Vice Chair of Sports Leaders UK, an organisation that trains in excess of 200,000 young people every year in Sports Leadership skills.
In his spare time he supports his 2 sport mad sons, snowboards and surfs and deals with the trials and limited successes of being a Portsmouth FC supporter.
