Andrew Ross

Founder | Director – URBNSURF

Andrew commenced his career in 1994 as a lawyer in Perth, before working internationally in London and Moscow as legal counsel for a large oil and gas company, and as a Director of Corporate Finance for a London-based private merchant bank. On his return to Perth in 2003, Andrew founded and ran as Managing Director a private equity-funded oil and gas company. Andrew was later appointed Managing Director of Elixir Petroleum Ltd, an oil and gas exploration and production company dual-listed on the ASX and the AIM markets. In 2013, Andrew stepped down from his role with Elixir and founded URBNSURF, a private equity-backed company which acquired the exclusive rights to develop surf parks in Australia utilising the world’s leading wave generating technology, the Wavegarden “Cove”. Together with committed and passionate staff, and supportive investors, Andrew is now devoted to creating unique surfing and leisure environments in urban locations around Australia and internationally, including URBNSURF Melbourne Australia’s first surf park which opened in January 2020. Andrew has a keen interest in all forms of board-based sport, as well as photography and music. He holds degrees in Law and Commerce, and qualifications in investment management and corporate finance. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
