CEO activeXchange, and Founder of the DataHub initiative
Alex has become one of the leading international specialists in the innovative use of data and technology to help shape more active communities and nations, having worked across the sector for 12 years, establishing and building forward thinking organisations and initiatives.
He’s founder of the DataHub project, the largest ever repository of participant and activity data. The DataHub brings existing data automatically together on a daily basis from a range of sources such as facilities, community programs and fitness apps, through integrations with third party systems. Launched in the UK initially, this has now led to the generation and sharing of intelligence from over 7m individuals (500m attendances). Unprecedented participation and business intelligence of what works and what doesn’t now better informs the decision-making process of over 4,500 sport venues, councils, national sport organisations and governments. It also empowers organisations to be the ‘intelligence coordinators’ across their respective areas.
In early 2018 Alex launched activeXchange, and alongside strategic partners, aims to bring similar innovation and intelligence to the Australian and New Zealand sectors. activeXchange services a specialist and emerging gap within the market by providing agile data analysis and technology services to help grow (and then evidence) participation outcomes, commercial returns, and social value impacts.
